    - a very open and free attitude with few rules (unlike provincial parks). Nobody will be upset if you talk a walk with a beer or glass of wine

Love this campground! The lake is wonderful, the private grounds allow more freedom than public parks, and it's reasonably priced. There are showers on site for a small fee, good toilets, and neat camp grounds. They have food and equipment rentals there as well if you're not into packing up too much supplies. Every year they make more improvements and just get better. Great place to get away from the city. Make sure to bring your bug spray though!

Fun in the sun or snow, it's fabulous all year round from wilderness camping to cozy cottages. I came with the intent of parking my trailer a couple of years and after 5 years, there is nowhere I would rather be. The park itself is filled with wonderful people, now more like family and there is always something to do. The Algonquin experience never grows old whether you take it by foot, bike, boat, or by horse. For those who enjoy their toys, traverse the trails by snowmobile or 4-wheeler or the linked lakes in whatever your watercraft.

    - the non-seasonal overnight camping sites are located along the "main drag" from the road to the store. This results in literally hundreds of people going by on motorized (loud) golf carts throughout the entire day. It seems like few people walk anywhere here - it is all golf cart, all the time. Often these are kids just going round and round for kicks.

    - the water/electrical sites are quite close together and the posts seem placed without coherence (our post had only one electrical connection which was used - luckily I had a long 30a extension)

We had a wonderful 5 day stay in one of the wilderness camp sites. The tree coverage made it feel truly isolated. The view of the lake from their boat dock is stunning. The staff is helpful and friendly. Renting a canoe it's a must and they make it very easy.
